Setting up the Control Cam
Illustration LSK405 shows the assembly and application of the
control lever to the metering unit. Initial settings are
obtained by the use of shims between the mating flanges,
while an eccentric pivot pin provides limited adjustment -
both rich and lean - about the datum fuel setting chosen.
The pins shown at "A" and "B" can be used as cam positioning
stops for setting-up purposes, but they should not be used as
throttle limiting stops.
The shape of the control lever can be varied to suit the particular
engine and throttle configuration. For this reason, this component
is not supplied as part of the equipment but is left to the engine
manufacturer to make to suit the requirements. Illustration
LSK391 shows nominal dimensions of a form of control lever.
